Gabriel S. Moses<\/strong> ist ein israelischer Autor, aufgewachsen in den Vororten von Jerusalem und Tel Aviv an der Grenze zwischen Israel und Palästina. Vor dem Hintergrund der jüngsten Ereignisse und Proteste in Israel wird er am 07.10.2011 seine neueste biographisch geprägte Graphic Novel "SUBZ – Biographien aus einer israelischen Vorstadt" vorstellen.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

SUBZ<\/strong> erzählt die Geschichte von Irad und seinen Freunden. Sie sind die Söhne und Töchter der militärischen Elite Israels, alle am Ende ihrer Teenagerzeit und aufgewachsen in dem Vorort Makabim, direkt auf der Green Line, der Grenze zwischen Israel und Palästina. Trotz all dem, was sie umgibt, leben sie in ihrer eigenen Seifenblase. Der Krieg spielt sich woanders ab, Politik ist irrelevant und die Realität selbst kann sich verbiegen und verschieben, ganz abhängig davon, auf welchen Pillen sie gerade sind.<\/p>\n

Als sich Irad auf den obligatorischen Wehrdienst vorbereitet, muss er erkennen, dass der Versuch, in Israel vor der Realität zu flüchten, genauso schonungslos sein kann wie jede andere Art von Krieg um Gebiete und Selbstbestimmung. Denn auch zu sehr zu lächeln kann schmerzhaft sein – Funny place Israel…<\/p>\n

Im Anschluß und direkt Bezug nehmend wird die Dokumentation „Who's your daddy“ des israelischen Regisseurs Rotem Malenky über die satirische Hip Hop\/Punk-Band "The Suburban Refugeez" aus Israel gezeigt, die innerhalb des ganz normalen Alltagswahnsinns im Israel von heute um Anerkennung kämpft.<\/p>\n
