\n\tMagische sieben Jahre gab es kein gedrucktes Buch von Mawil – abgesehen von einigen Strips (zB. im Tagesspiegel, in Epidermophytie, MogaMobo…). Nun ist es da, und umfasst gleich knapp 300 farbige Seiten. Erzählt wird eine Geschichte, die sich in der DDR in den letzten Tagen vor dem Umbruch 1989 zugetragen hat – praktisch am Vorabend der Revolution. Am letzten Gratis-Comic-Tag verteilten wir dazu auch ein passendes Heft.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\"Kinderland\n<\/p>\n

\n\tKinderland lässt auf ganz wunderbare Weise die alten Tage aufleben, ohne dabei jedoch in eine Art romantischen (N-)Ostalgiekitsch zu verfallen. Längst vergessene Dinge wie das Abfackeln von Tischtennisbällen oder die Unerreichbarkeit von Türöffnern in Bussen u.v.a. (ich möchte hier nicht spoilern) spült der Band zu unserem Vergnügen an die Oberfläche. Eines der Highlights des Bandes ist sicherlich das *zig Seiten überspannende Tischtennisturnier.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWer die Zeit selbst nicht miterlebt hat, wird ev. nicht jede Anspielung verstehen, aber trotzdem seine Freude an dem ebenso spaßigen wie tiefgründigen Band haben. Mawil hat einfach einen sympathischen Zeichenstil und einen hervorragenden erzählerischen Rythmus.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\"Kinderland\n<\/p>\n

\n\tKinderland erscheint als Softcover-Edition für 29.- EUR, und als auf 777 Stück limitierte Vorzugsausgabe mit signiertem Druck und in Hardcover für 45 EUR. Die HC-Ausgabe ist in einem Einband in der Farbe der Arbeiterfahne gebunden, die in Ihrer Beschaffenheit an die Mappen erinnert, in denen die Patenbrigade die Urkunden zur Zeugnisausgabe transportiert hat. Beschriftet ist der Einband in deutscher Sprache – jedoch mit kyrillischen Buchstaben. Wir haben beide Ausgaben vorrätig.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWer die Vorzugsausgabe haben möchte, sollte nicht zu lange zögern, denn die Bände gehen zumindest bei uns im Laden weg wie die Brötchenhälften auf dem Schmalzschrippenbasar.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tÜbrigens wurde Kinderland auch für den Max und Moritz Preis<\/strong> nominiert. Die Nominierung hinterläßt jedoch einen etwas zwiespältigen Eindruck, denn das Buch wurde nominiert bevor<\/strong> es überhaupt erschienen ist, und nachdem<\/strong> die Publikumsnominierungsrunde gelaufen ist. Das spricht natürlich überhaupt nicht gegen das Buch selbst, allerdings auch nicht für diese Preisverleihung. In der DDR wäre man ev. auch so verfahren… [scnr]\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSchade ist es vor allem, weil das Buch ev. auch auf direktem Wege ohne so eine self fulfilling prophecy<\/em> in den Genuß des Preises gekommen wäre. Nun – das werden wir nicht erfahren. Ich freu mich jedenfalls über das Buch, die gesamte Preisverleihung inkl. der unsäglichen Organisation der Publikumsrunde (man sollte sich dazu in drei Internetforen anmelden – eine subtile Aufforderung zur Nichtteilnahme für Leute, die sich nicht die Hose mit der sprichwörtlichen Kneifzange anziehen) bedarf m.M. nach jedoch einer grundlegenden Überarbeitung – einer Wende – möchte man thematisch passend fast sagen. Überhaupt wäre ein richtiger Publikumspreis für Comics mal einen richtig feine Sache – gibt es ja leider nicht.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tUnd weil in dem Artikel am Ende ein Hinweis auf eine Veranstaltung bei Dussmann kommt, hier noch ein unverschämt-eigennütziges Schlusswort: kauft Comics in Comicläden (da gibt es in Berlin ein paar ganz gute ;)) und nicht in Kaufhäusern. Für eine lebendige und individuelle Comickultur – mit Herz und Seele.\n<\/p>\n
