Wieder einmal haben sich Filmemacher einer Comicvorlage bedient. Am heutigen Halloween-Fest startet in den USA die auf der Kult-Comicreihe basierende TV-Serie „The Walking Dead“.<\/p>\n

Ab 5.11.2010 wird die Serie auch in Deutschland ausgestrahlt (Fox). „The Walking Dead“ ist die Geschichte einer Gruppe von Menschen, die in einer von Zombies bev\u00f6lkerten Welt um ihr \u00dcberleben k\u00e4mpfen. Dabei trifft die Gruppe gelegentlich auf andere \u00dcberlebende der Zombiekatastrophe, und es stellt sich heraus, dass die Menschen die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Gefahr f\u00fcr sich selbst sind.<\/p>\n

In der Serie geht es weniger im die Ursachen der Katastrophe oder deren Abwendung, als um die Darstellung und Entwicklung der Charaktere in einer solchen Situation. Darin liegt auch die St\u00e4rke der Comics. „The Walking Dead“ bleibt dabei handfeste Genre-Litaratur mit jeder Menge Splatter.<\/p>\n

Die Comics waren bereits sehr filmisch inszeniert (vergleichbar mit Vertigo-Serien), sehr spannend geschrieben und die Zeichnungen m\u00f6chte ich als Referenz f\u00fcr gut gemachte schwarz\/wei\u00df Comics bezeichnen. „The Walking Dead“ ist ein echter Page-Turner.<\/p>\n

Die im Verlag „Image Comics“ monatlich erscheinenden Comics geh\u00f6ren in den USA zu den erfolgreichsten Serien. In Deutschland erscheinen die B\u00fccher in einer sch\u00f6nen Hardcoverausgabe bei Crosscult (z.Z. bis Band 11 erh\u00e4ltlich).
\nDer Comic gewann 2010 den Eisner Award als die beste Fortsetzungsgeschichte.<\/p>\n
